Located in the heart of the Medoc, Chateau de Villegeorge has long enjoyed a reputation for top quality: its wines were highly sought after as early on as the 18th century. And when a group of Bordeaux wine merchants established the Crus Bourgeois classification in 1932 it was one of only six estate designated a “cru exceptionnel.” Lucien Lurton acquired the property in 1973, and it is now in the very capable hands of one of his daughters, Marie-Laure. L’Etoile de Villegeorge is the estate’s second wine. A roughly 60/40 blend of Cabernet and Merlot, L’Etoile, unlike its big brother, is done entirely in stainless steel. With aromas of berries and flowers, it is soft and well-rounded on the palate, showing a remarkable harmony between power and velvety ripe tannins.13.5%alc
